Battement beaten. The R foot is placed in the position sur le cou-de-pied devant or derrière and the R toe beats against the L ankle with a series of quick little taps, using the lower part of the leg from the knee down. Battements battus are performed as an exercise at the barre on the point or demi-pointe. They are also performed by the danseuse on point supported by her partner.
